Master says: "One's own destiny is not that easy as it seems. For nothing. It could also require dangerous actions. When we want something, we get strong energies into movement and we don't hide anymore, not even to ourselves, the real meaning of our life. When we want something, we make a choice and pay the price. It may be necessary to abandon old habits, it may bring us problems and disappointment. it doesn't matter how high the price is, because it is never as high as the one we would pay in order not to live our personal destiny. Because one day we will look behind, we will see everything we have done and we will say 'I wasted my life'.
Believe me, this is the worst sentence you could ever hear."
Master says: "The sign language is there, in front of us, to teach us the best way to behave. But we often try to distort those signs in order to make them coincide with what we wanted them to be at first."
Excerpts from "Maktub", by Paulo Coelho
Let's live in the present!
There is only one time that is really important- NOW!
It is the most important moment because it is the only one we have power upon.
Lev Tolstoi
In the buddhist meditation there is a practice called "mindfulness" - centering the attention on the present. What does this mean? Living with all our senses concentrated on the present moment. By practicing this concentration on the present we manage to fully live our life.
Don't be mislead by this word. Mindfulness does not mean passing everything through the mind filter, analyzing and then living. It means becoming conscious of the present time, turning every moment, every quality and every sense into good account. It also means being conscious about what happens inside and around you, paying attention both to the details and the general setting.
This can be achieved by using our attention and consciousness. When we become conscious of the moment "now", time seems to slow its flow. Our life starts getting in tune with the universal rhytms and we manage to fully live it.
This practice can be learned. We only need to wish for this and apply it. When we slow down we become more and more conscious of what is around us and we can benefit of the opportunities that otherwise we would have missed.
The "mindfulness" practice can be lived not only during the intense moments that conquer our senses anyway with their power, but also in our every day life when we do household work, when we listen to our beloved ones, when we take our usual walk.
Learn to slow down, allow yourself the "luxury" of doing nothing; learn to simply not do anything at all, except for existing, in a lent and relaxed pace. You will notice that the more you practice, the better your health and relationship become, you will learn to better know and appreciate yourself.
Let rush aside - it's time to enter into NOW!
