Ideas for a better healt

Relaxation - change stress into vitality
Choose a lifestyle that has relaxation spots. There are a lot of systems you can recharge yourself energetically; from yoga to occidental relaxation, to taoism.

Food - recreate your body
According to the Chinese teachings,a balanced diet contains food of the five tastes: salted, sweet, bitter, spicy and sour (yes,the five tastes are in relationship with the five elements used in Traditional Feng Shui). Try not to eat too many sweet and highly prepared things and try to achieve an ideal balance of 20 % of each taste. Water - foundation of life
This wondeful liquid can help us maintain a good health without too much effort. Start from morning: drink water at room temperature as soon as you wake up (put a glass of water next to the bed). This will help to eliminate the residues accumulated in the bowels especially if you manage to wake up between 5 and 7 when the big bowel meridian is active.
During the day try to drink 6-8 glasses of plain water.

Regular program for physical exercise
Try to exercise at least 3 times a week. Start with a shorter time interval and increase the exercising time and the exercise intensity, gradually. It is preferable to find a group of friends or colleagues to go to a gym - it is easier to support and encourage each other!
Each training session should start with a light warming up and finish with a few stretching exercises in order to be safely back to normal.

Sound sleep
The quality of the sleep often depends on the things we have done during the day. Therefore, we have to prepare for sleeping ever since morning, when we wake up slowly, smiling to ourselves! Then during the day we will relax as often as we can.
The quality of the sleep also depends on the energies in the bedroom. For example, if we are not compatible with the yin energy in the wall the head is oriented to, we won't sleep well (you will find out these compatibilities after carrying out a Traditional Feng Shui analysis for the whole apartment).

Health and relaxation through massage

If I was asked what the modern society is missing I would say "massage" without hesitation. Always present in an important position in the great ancient civilizations, it lost, in time, its role in health keeping and restoring.

The XIXth century was the witness of the rediscovery of the ancient art of massage and its positioning on scientific background. The end of the millenium also brought an emphasis on the orientation towards the alternative, holistic, practices for body maintainance.

Massage - the art of touch
The essence of the massage is the touch. The professional, non-sexual, directed touch. Out of the five senses, the touch is the most important. We can not live without it. As children we exercise this sense a lot, as most of our games involve touch. This keeps us connected with our fundamental nature. As time passes by, we get more and more isolated. The standards of the modern society and its value system, as well as the nature of the most widespread types of work nowadays limitate the physical contact with our fellows, a lot. That is why a correct massage reestablishes the balance.

Fighting with stress
Massage is the most efficient weapon against stress. To most people results are to be noticed immediately after the first massage session. The muscle relaxation acts deep inside ourselves because the physical and psychical level are interconnected. This is the so-called holistic principle, integrator of the massage.

Types of massage

  • Classic (swedish) massage
    It is the most widespread type of massage and it is requested by most people. It consists of skin processing according to Per Henrik Ling's method. According to the desired effect, the swedish massage can be used for relaxation, tonifying, maintainance and therapy. It is often used together with other types of massage to enhance the effect.

  • Shiatsu massage
    It is a kind of massage coming from Japan and spread everywhere in the world. It consists of variable strength pressure applied along the energy meridians for the re-balance of the receiver's body. For the palms and soles more complex movements are carried out in order to restore the joints mobility. The face component of the focused-touch style is the most relaxing methods I have worked with so far.

  • Lymphatic drainage
    This massage method, invented by Vodder and assimilated by the author with the help of the French master Guy Dumont is widely used for medical purposes. The light and precise movements specific to the lymphatic drainage can be used for body detoxifiation, fight against cellulytis and treatment of the local inflammatory processes.

    Oils and lotions to use
    After testing several types of oils I have chosen for the daily use the almond or parafine oil, enhanced with essence of marjoram, ylang-ylang, menthol or lavender. For the therapeutic massage I also use various natural creams and lotions out of which I mention here the Apireven (containing bees venom as active substance) which really works wonders in the back pains, torticolis or poliarticular rheumatism.
