A new way to approach our house through Feng Shui ideas

Until we can benefit of a traditional Feng Shui expertise, in order to find out which are the good rooms and which are those to be converted in lumber rooms, let’s take another look to our house.

The energy flow in our environment reflects the circulation of our internal energy. The way the energy flows through the house can give us indications about the condititon of our “inside”.

Another exercise for house analysis
Go through the house imagining that your movement through the space is like a peaceful river. How is the joirney of the river through the bed (house) – smooth or obstructed? How many times do you stumble against the improperly placed carpets, hit against corners of furniture, stumble against cables or small chairs?

Taking into account the elements you find, use what you learned so far and rearrange the house so that the energy flow will be eased. Each of us can remodelate the house thus changing the way the internal energy moves through the body. You will notice that after rearranging certain furniture according to the Feng Shui principles, your thinking becomes clearer and smoother and your mind becomes more creative.

Inner landscape
When you think about the inner landscape, keep in mind the natural shapes of the paths (roads) in nature. Don’t think of those created by humans, which are usually straight, with square angles. Those in nature have smooth curves and fit the structure of mountains, hills and other relief forms, being perfectly integrated in the landscape.

Let’s remember that humans are a part of the nature as well. The city life limitates in a certain degree the ways to get in contact with nature and people tend to take more and more distance from natural things forgetting to live in the same rhytm with the universe. This reflects into the lack of inner balance, damage of health as well as in many other fields.

Rearranging the furniture can be seen as an arrangement of the (inner) nature in the house. Arrange the furniture so that the energy flows easily through all rooms. In the big rooms the furniture grouped in a certain place and surrounded by space ensure an easy energy flow. You can use carpets to delimitate the interest areas, as well as the energetic lines.

Don’t arrange furniture along the walls because they will create a limited central space, as well as many square angles. Instead, you can create asymetric arrangements from furniture or use paintings that would dynamize the energy flow. Symetric or parallel arrangements simply close the space up.

Create energy and freshness
Surround yourself by beautiful things (creating Sheng Qi) which would remind you the joy of life. Beauty is everywhere in the world – it is necessary to create it ourselves inside, according to our own taste. A vase of flowers can bring freshness and colour in a house which is generally pale. A painting in vivid colours can create a similar effect. Also, if you have several paintings you might want to change them at different time intervals in order to break the monotony and catch your attention about certain details.

Use the sunlight (element fire) effectively, in order to give more value to certain arrangements of furniture or decorations which can create a spot of colour in a room. During the evening you might live the light on in the passing corridors, as well as in the rooms you use often.
