Main entrance - the place through which the house receives a lot of energy
We have discussed in a previous article, a few ideas regarding the entrance in the house as well as what is outside and inside.
Let’s stop to the main door. Since we analyzed it in the past, we can say that now it is as we want it to be: new or freshly repaired / repainted, with a lightbulb above (to encourage the entrance of qi in the house) and with an empty space on both sides – outside and inside.
The best door should be strong, that is entirely made of wood or metal (or other material). Doors with glass are recommended to be used inside the house in order for the energy to circulate easily. A strong entrance door confers feeling of stability and security.
Also, when there is a back door in line with the front door, try to direct the energy flow such a way that this line would not be straight. Use screens, “curtains” made of threads of beads and any other decorative element which could modify the linear flow of energy.
Once you have an energetic map of the house, you will know whether you can place wind chimes close to the main door. They release pleasant sounds when they touch the top edge of the door, welcoming you with a harmonious sound. However I stress the necessity of an expertise before installing the remedies. In some previous articles I mentioned that this remedy – as well as other Feng Shui element – should not be placed by hazard as it can provoke negative effects.
The main entrance is the place the apartment or house received much energy through. This is more true as the traffic is more intense or the orientation of the door is towards the street.
The main entrance (and the house) should be protected against a too strong energy flow directed towards it. This happens, for example, when a street is perpendiculat on the house facing. We can screen the door / house by planting a row of trees or high bushes in front of the house. The stormy flow will be slowed down and the inhabitants will feel better and more secure.
We can enhance the benefic flow by placing plants close to the entrance. A carpet with colored patterns could also enhance the welcoming aspect of the house, as well.
It is ideal that the door is proportional to the size of the house. The balance and harmony are the key words in Feng Shui, being two principles guiding our lives when we desire to benefit of happy events.
Other ideas
According to the energetic map of the house, established after a Feng Shui analzsis, you can choose to paint the door in a happy colour that would emphasize it. This can attract even more energy inside.
Basically, try to see the main entrance through the eyes of a guest coming from the first time in front of it. Notice the imperfections and correct them. Bring a plus of originality by decorations and colors that would be compatible with the indications of the expertise.
Make sure that the main entrance creates a warm and welcoming atmosphere for those coming in front of your house. Finally you meet it every day!
