How to create a space full of peace
Each of us (in a more or less conscious way) wishes to live in harmony with the outside and inside environment. A space full of peace (as well as a peaceful mind) is similar to a quiet lake or a clean mirror: we can clearly see things with their help. We might not always like what we see but at least we have the chance to see things as they are.

On the other hand, troubled waters (in our case, a space which is not in order) generate a trouble of the eyes or of the thinking capacity. All exercises we recommended in the previous articles had to do, in a higher or lower degree, with the arrangement of the space so that we can have the most well arranged physical space to favour a state of inner welness at the same time.
In order to verify whether our space is full of peace, or, at the contrary, it produces a state of restlesness or confusion, analyze the environment where you live. Walk through the house and identify the areas which produce a confusion of the senses, shelves in disorder, walls full of pictures or worn out papers, refrigerators full of post-its, lists and other notes which are not actual anymore. Check the corners of the rooms where a lot of useless things can be stored (broken umbrellas, cans from grandfather’s time, travel cans collected from the forests many years ago etc).
Bring peace in these places full of sensorial stress cleaning up and throwing away those things which aren’t necessary and bringing light where needed.
In the bedroom, peace can be installed by eliminating the TV-set or phone, where appropriate. This can be difficult if you are used with them, but you will notice the good change immediately. Moreover, to keep energies quiet, don’t work while in bed.
These things must not prevent you from having trouble moments created by creative activities which can generate a true storm in the house. Too much silence (yin excess) can limit your creativity and desire to enjoy life.
A space full of peace – necessary or not?
In our times, when the rhytm of life is faster and faster, a very peaceful space is more necessary than ever. In the past, the human being’s closeness to nature helps him balance himself easily being in harmony with the universal rhytms.
In the modern world, the responsibility for creating a peaceful space belongs to each one of us. This can be a separate room, used for rest, individual study or meditation, or only a part of the room.
Define this space by delimitating it from the rest of the room through a (mobile) screen or creating a (half-) barrier by apartment plants.
A few other ways to alocate this space to the quiet are turning the lights off in some moments when you feel the need for sensorial rest. If you want light however, you can use candles or gas lights. You can also draw the phone out of the socket and switch the radio or TV off. Think on how muuch we use our years and eyes, for example. A “working” break is more than welcome for them, in order to ne recharged and served the best possible.
This time-space allocated to the quiet will help us clarify intentions regarding our lives and future projects. It will help us center ourselves and establish our priorities in an easier way, following the action plans more easily.
